START-UP PROJECT

School of Promise Campaign is our start-up campaign to fund our very first educational center in Ethiopia.
The fund will be utilized to open a center where we recruit young girls in rural regions of Ethiopia and provide them with yearly school supplies, female sanitary needs, and leadership training.

LEADERSHIP FOR ENDING FGM IN AFRICA(LEFA)
PROJECT
GOAL: S1,000,000
LEFA aims at creating scholarship opportunities for girls who are seeking education abroad. Through this scholarship, LEFA will provide selected undergraduate students for a master's program in Women studies. The scholarship will cover both tuition and living expenses for at most 2 students a year.

EXPANSION PROJECT
GOAL: S1,000,000+
SAFE HAVEN CAMPAIGN fund will be utilized to open dormitory educational centers in regions with high prevalence of FGM and with no law against FGM. The centers will serve as a safe haven to girls who wish to protect themselves against these violent crimes.

SUSTAINING PROJECT
GOAL: S1,000,000
The Sustaining Project Campaign fund will be utilized to programs that aim at reforms and harmonizing laws in countries where laws that criminalize FGM don't exist. The fund will also be utilized to build the capacity of law enforcement and the Judiciary in the area .The fund will also be utilized to organize experience sharing platforms among the different countries that are the focus of the campaign. Some portions of the fund will also be used to create alternative jobs for those who are practicing FGM in sub-Saharan Africa.

FREE LEGAL AID AND LAW REFORM
PROJECT
GOAL: S100,000
This project aims at providing free legal services for girls who are victims of gender-based violence in the United States particularly FGM/C and Child Marriage. We further undertake research as a basis for public education and legal reform. This program also aims at supporting local organizations in harmonizing laws that significantly affect Women and Girls including Family Laws, Criminal Laws, Personal Status Laws, and Succession Laws. EmpowerGirlsNow plans to collect these laws for further analysis and research and calls on its supporters to assist in this regard.
